Once fully staffed, GPPS will include more than 225 personnel, consisting of police officers, peace officers, outreach workers, social workers, nurses and civilian professionals. Together, these specialized roles will support a modern, collaborative approach to public safety.

“The GPPS is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information in accordance with the Protection of Privacy Act, SA 2024, c. P-28.5 (“POPA”) and the Access to Information Act, SA 2024, c. A-1.4 (“ATIA”).  The collection of personal information is authorized under Section 4(c) of POPA.  

We collect your name, contact details, and cognitive test results (both previous and current) solely for the purpose of administering the Alberta Police Cognitive Ability Test, and this information is obtained from individuals and authorized third parties as required.  The personal information collected is used exclusively to assess cognitive abilities and support informed decisions for educational or employment evaluations.

Disclosure of this information occurs only with your explicit written consent or as permitted by law under POPA and ATIA, including disclosure to authorized entities with a legitimate purpose.  Your personal information is safeguarded in compliance with Section 10, Part 1 of POPA, which establishes the measures required to protect against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, or retention.
